Prominent Iran comedian dies at age 86

Iran Focus: London, Nov. 21 – Prominent Iranian comic actor Abdol-Ali Homayoun has died at the age of 86. Iran Focus

London, Nov. 21 – Prominent Iranian comic actor Abdol-Ali Homayoun has died at the age of 86.

Homayoun became famous for his role in the comedy soap opera “Samad Agha” which was a hit in Iran prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Homayoun played the role of Sarkar Ostovar, a clumsy village police chief always trying to arrest wacky Samad who could not help but get into trouble.

He died from a heart attack on Saturday in Tehran.
