Tehran, Iran, Jan. 04 – Iran’s embassy in Ankara reacted angrily to an article last month by British Foreign Secretary David Miliband in the Turkish daily Zaman which argued the need to keep up the pressure on Iran over its controversial nuclear activities.

In a letter which appeared in the daily on Wednesday, Qolam-Reza Baqeri-Moqaddam, Iran’s ambassador to Turkey, described Miliband’s remarks as a “great political deception”.

The contents of the letter were reported in Farsi by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

Baqeri-Moqaddam also took aim at Britain and the United States for their continued military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
