Tehran, Iran, Nov. 08 A young man was publicly hanged in the northern Iranian town of Sari, a semi-official daily reported on Tuesday.

22-year-old Ahmad Norouzian was publicly hanged in Khazar Square, the hard-line daily Kayhan wrote.

Norouzian was accused of rape and his sentence had been upheld by Irans State Supreme Court and approved by the countrys Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi.
