Tehran, Iran, Jan. 02 – Iran’s State Supreme Court upheld a death sentence for a man in the city of Shiraz, central Iran, according to a report in the state-run daily Qods.

Jasem Chak is expected to be hanged in the coming days.

Separately, the state-run daily Sharq reported on Sunday that a Tehran court had sentenced a young man, identified only by his first name Abolfazl, to be hanged.

Twenty six-year-old Abolfazl was accused of murder, the report said.

The state-run ISNA news agency also reported on Monday that the State Supreme Court had upheld a death sentence against an unnamed man from the town of Bojnourd, northern-eastern Iran.
