TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator and the European Union’s foreign policy chief will meet for a new round of talks on Tehran’s disputed nuclear programme on June 23, an Iranian news agency said on Tuesday.
The Mehr News Agency, citing an official Iranian statement, said Iran’s Ali Larijani and the EU’s Javier Solana would meet in the Portuguese capital Lisbon on Saturday.
Their last meeting in Madrid on May 31 yielded no breakthrough on the core dispute — Iran’s refusal to suspend uranium enrichment as a condition for broader negotiations.
