ImageWASHINGTON, March 24 (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama held telephone talks on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Iran, the Middle East peace process and global economic issues, the White House said.

"The president and his counterparts discussed the international community's next steps on Iran, the Middle East peace process and global economic issues," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said at his daily news briefing.
