“If the (International Atomic Energy) Agency does not correct its resolution or insists on applying it, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be forced to go back on all its voluntary concessions, particularly application of the additional protocol,” the foreign ministry said in a statement published by Iran’s student news agency, ISNA.
Iran signed the Non-Proliefration Treaty’s (NPT) additional protocol in 2003 following an accord with Great Britain, France and Germany, who have been negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program.
The additional protocol is a part of the NPT signed but not ratified by Iran that gives reinforced inspection powers to the (IAEA).
