London, Feb. 07 – British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Tuesday that Iran was seriously mistaken if it believed that the world community would allow it to get away with developing nuclear weapons.

“Iran would make a very, very serious mistake if it thinks the international community is going to allow it to develop nuclear weapons capability”, Blair told a session of the Liaison Committee of the United Kingdom Parliament.

He described recent comments by hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad against Israel as “extremely inflammatory”.

Ahmadinejad said that the Holocaust was a “myth” and called for the Jewish state to be “wiped off the map”.

Blair also accused Iran of exporting terrorism in the region. “It’s a problem”, he said.

“The concern about Iran is growing very, very substantially”.
