AFP: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday vowed that Iran would defend the aims of its nuclear programme “with firmness” during any negotiations on the issue. TEHRAN, Iran, Sept 2, 2006 (AFP) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday vowed that Iran would defend the aims of its nuclear programme “with firmness” during any negotiations on the issue.

“The people will not give in by one iota in their desire to use nuclear energy for peaceful ends and officials have the duty to defend these objectives with firmness during negotations,” he said in a speech in the northwestern town of Maku.
