AP: French President Nicolas Sarkozy said a new U.S. intelligence report saying Iran stopped its nuclear weapons development in 2003 reinforces international concerns and should not diminish pressure for new sanctions.

New York Times: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran said Wednesday that an American intelligence report’s conclusion that Iran was not currently developing a nuclear weapons program was a big victory for his country. He said the finding was a result of Iran’s resistance to international pressure over its nuclear program.

New York Times: American intelligence agencies reversed their view about the status of Iran’s nuclear weapons program after they obtained notes last summer from the deliberations of Iranian military officials involved in the weapons development program, senior intelligence and government officials said on Wednesday.

Reuters: France said on Wednesday there was “growing consensus” among world powers including China and Russia on moving talks on Iran’s nuclear program to New York next week to prepare a new U.N. sanctions resolution.

Reuters: U.S. President George W. Bush told Iran on Wednesday to “come clean” about its nuclear activities or else face isolation by the international community.

New York Times: The International Atomic Energy Agency on Tuesday publicly embraced the new American intelligence assessment stating that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons effort, but in truth the agency is taking a more cautious approach in drawing conclusions about Iran’s nuclear program.
