Iran Focus: Tehran, Jun. 02 – Two men were found dead with their hands tied behind their backs in a river by local residents in southern Iran.
The bodies were discovered in the river Karoun in the city of Ahwaz where there has been plenty of unrest in recent months.

Northwest Arkansas Times: Removing Mujahedeen e-Khalq from the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations is the best option for bringing democracy to Iran, the founder of the Iran Policy Committee said Wednesday at the Clarion Inn during a panel discussion of the Iranian presidential elections and the U.S. policy options for Iran.
The panel was organized by Hooshang Nazarali, a Madison County Justice of the Peace and business owner.

Qalibaf told the state-run Fars agency, “There are those in government who are involved in goods smuggling”.

Similar disruptions of service have also been reported in the larger Isfahan province (central Iran), with some claiming that regular state broadcasting was also badly affected.

The consul was arrested when he was approached by an Iraq police lieutenant and refused to show his passport on request, the Al-Afaq daily wrote in its Tuesday edition, quoting the Iraqi Human Rights group.

Iran survey: 92 percent of voters to stay away from presidential polls

Iran Focus: Tehran, Jun. 01 – A nationwide survey conducted by an Iranian opposition group showed widespread voter apathy in Iran’s upcoming June 17 presidential elections.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) said in a press release that a survey of 1,730 adults eligible to vote showed that 92 percent of voters intend to boycott the elections. The survey was based on interviews conducted between May 27 and May 30, 2005.
