Tehran, Iran, Apr. 16 – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed Mohammad-Hassan Qadiri Abyaneh as the Islamic Republic’s new ambassador to Mexico, the official news agency IRNA reported on Monday.

Qadiri Abyaneh was previously Iran’s top envoy to Australia and a deputy head of the Presidential Office for communications and propaganda affairs.

His previous posts also include the position of the Foreign Ministry’s director-general for information and press affairs and advisor to the chairman of the State Expediency Council Ayatollah Ali-Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
