Tehran, Iran, Sep. 19 – Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki will travel to New York to attend a United Nations meeting on Iraq, the official news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.

Representatives from the five permanent member states of the UN Security Council, as well as Iraq’s neighbours, several Arab states, and the G8 countries will meet in New York on Saturday to discuss the situation in Iraq.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbass Araqchi and ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazai will also take part in the meeting, the report said.

It added the meeting will be co-chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
