Tehran, Iran, Nov. 07 – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), whose extra-territorial wing was designated in October by the U.S. administration as a “supporter of terrorism”, issued a blunt threat to Washington on Wednesday, vowing that Tehran had the “capabilities of striking American interests”.

In case of a U.S. attack on Iran, the United States’ interests would be “in range” of the Islamic Republic’s military, IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said. His remarks were reported by the government-owned news agency Fars.

Gen. Jazayeri, who is also in charge of the Cultural and Defence Propaganda Directorate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, said, “In case of aggression or an attack by the enemy, Iran is capable of inflicting deadly blows on them”.

“Iran has at hand the necessary intelligence and capabilities in this regard”, he added.
