Paris Seminar for Iranian communities calls for justice for the victims of the Iranian Regime.

-

London, 6 September A number of international politicians and human rights advocates attended a seminar of the Iranian communities in Europe in Paris, this past weekend, decrying the current theocratic regime and pledging support for the resistance forces.

The seminar was held at the office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, in Auvers-sur-Oise on Saturday, September 3, 2016.

The chairman of the 2016 Democratic National Convention has announced the only way for Iran to be free, is to overthrow the regime.

Ed Rendell, who is also a former Governor of Pennsylvania, said: “What could be more galling than to hear that Iran’s current Minister of Justice [Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi] was a member of the Death Commission in 1988?”

The Death Commission ordered the executions of over 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988. When audio was leaked that proved his involvement, Pour-Mohammadi appeared to gloat about the massacre.

Rendell usesPour-Mohammadi’s promotion as evidence that the current regime is far from the moderate government portrayed during 2015 nuclear deal.

The former leader of the US Democratic Party added: “There is so much in common between what the MEK (PMOI) have fought for and what the original American patriots fought for… These people are standing up for an ideal.” He reiterated, “There is only one way that freedom will come to the people of Iran, and that is with regime change.”

Dr. Bernard Kouchner, former Foreign Minister of France, spoke up about the need to prosecute the mullahs in a special tribunal

He said: “I ask myself what the human rights defenders were doing at the time (of the 1988 massacre)?”

Kouchner added: “The massacres did not take place only in 1988. Iran continues to have the highest execution rate per capita. The executions have even increased after the nuclear deal.”

Struan Stevenson, President of the European Iraqi Freedom Association and a former member of the European Parliament, said: “What has happened about the 30,000 who were massacred in 1988? Nothing from the West at all. If the United Nations is to retain one ounce of credibility they must take this up at the UN Human Rights Council this month in Geneva. It must be a key item on the agenda. It must go before the UN Security Council. The perpetrators and murderers must be held to account; they must be brought to justice.”

Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the Iranian Resistance and the keynote speaker at this seminar called on the international community to put the Iranian Regime leaders on trial for crimes against humanity. She also urged the Iranian people to rise up and show their support for the resistance forces.
