Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Aug. 18 – Nineteen workers died in a motorway accident south of the Iranian capital. The incident happened as a minibus with 37 passengers on board fell into
a water canal as it was moving in the Ghiam-Dasht Highway, close to the town of Pakdasht which is in the suburbs of Tehran. Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Aug. 18 – Nineteen workers died in a motorway accident south of the Iranian capital.

The incident happened as a minibus with 37 passengers on board fell into a water canal as it was moving in the Ghiam-Dasht Highway, close to the town of Pakdasht which is in the suburbs of Tehran.

Of the 37 passengers, who were all workers, 19 died instantly and 13 others are said to be in a critical state.

It has not been made clear what caused the bus to swing into the canal.
