“Everyday dozens of officials are caught red-handed while smuggling illegal drugs. On this basis, definitely, without the support of forces within the ruling establishment it would be impossible to have the present levels of drug smuggling in the country”, Mohammad Abbaspour said.

“On the basis of research carried out, every day there are 20 to 30 people identified vis-à-vis drugs and meddling to facilitate their entry and distribution in the country”, Abbaspour, a member of the Majlis Social Committee, said.

He accused the State Security Forces, prison guards, and the Office to Combat Drugs of harbouring such individuals.

“For example, the high volume of distribution of all sorts of drugs in prisons could definitely not be carried out by prisoners or their families. Surely, infiltrators from within the regime are involved in this issue”.
