Tehran, Iran, Feb. 02 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared on Thursday that the Islamic Republic would not back down in its efforts to obtain nuclear capabilities, state media reported.

Speaking in southern Bushehr Province’s town of Kangan, Ahmadinejad said, “Be sure that we will not back down in obtaining nuclear technology”.

“The West tell us that we must not have peaceful nuclear technology when they themselves have the latest nuclear technologies and are making a new bomb every day”, he added.

Brushing off threats of UN Security Council referral, the hard-line President said, “They are like lions whose manes and fur have fallen off and cannot do a damn thing”.
