Hossein Nazari, a 25-year-old citizen arrested during Iran’s January 2026 protests, has been sentenced to death by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad.
According to a report by HRANA, the protesting prisoner faced charges including “communicating with hostile governments and groups” and “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security.” His death sentence was issued in July.
Hossein Nazari, born in 2001, was arrested by security forces during the January protests and, after undergoing interrogation and judicial proceedings, was transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. He is currently imprisoned there.
