Tehran, Iran, Feb. 23 – The Supreme Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned the United States not to attack Iran’s nuclear installations or it would face the “full might” of the elite military force, state television reported on Wednesday.

Speaking to a group of military commanders in the central province of Yazd, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that the Islamic Republic was “determined” to move ahead with its nuclear program regardless of any “threat” or “pressure”.

He said that there was unity among the government, Majlis (Parliament), and judiciary for Iran to pursue its nuclear activities.

“If our enemies understand the circumstances they will never try such an idiotic action and they will not repeat their past mistakes such as their actions in Iraq and Afghanistan”, The IRGC chief said.

“With the passing of 27 years from the victory of the Islamic revolution, the Iranian nation will defend the goals and gains of the Islamic Republic with more determination and unity”, Safavi said.

“The enemies do not have the capacity to launch a military strike against Iran”, he said, adding that if they did carry out such an action the Revolutionary Guards, the Bassij, and the regular armed forces would come down on them with their “full might”.

He said that Iran had the strongest military force in the Middle East.
