London, Mar. 30 – German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Thursday after talks in Berlin with Foreign Ministry officials of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council that Iran had to suspend all uranium enrichment-related activities.

The Security Council unanimously adopted a “Presidential Statement” on Wednesday calling on Tehran to halt its uranium enrichment activities which could lead to the development of a nuclear bomb.

Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia, and the United States continue to be “seriously concerned” about Iran’s failure to heed the demands of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency by suspending all “enrichment related and reprocessing activities, including research and development”, Steinmeier said in a statement.

“The Presidential Statement sends a strong signal to Iran to take the steps required by the IAEA Board. At the same time the international community remains ready to find a diplomatic solution”, he said.
