Tehran, Iran, Apr. 27 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that Iran would make nations who oppose the Islamic Republic’s nuclear efforts regret their stances, a day before the deadline set by the United Nations Security Council for Tehran to suspend all uranium enrichment activities.

“The Iranian nation will wipe the stain of regret on the foreheads of those who want to bring about injustice”, Ahmadinejad said at a rally in the province of Zanjan, northwest Iran.

“You have not yet understood the strength of the Iranian nation. Relying on the youths, the Iranian nation has today obtained peaceful technology to produce nuclear fuel and no one can take this right away from it”, he added.

The hard-line president said that Iran had obtained the nuclear technology despite preventative efforts by the “enemies”.

Iran’s “enemies” would be defeated in their efforts to stop Tehran’s nuclear drive, he said.

“The Iranian nation will not retreat an iota from its inalienable rights”, he said, adding that resolutions by the Security Council would not be enough to force Tehran to abandon its nuclear enrichment activities.

In March, the Security Council adopted a “Presidential Statement” unanimously giving Iran until April 28 to suspend all of its uranium enrichment activities and resume its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
