CRAWFORD, Texas – As President Bush sees it, “the only good deal is one that’s verifiable.”

He’s applauding the efforts of some European countries to get Iran to honor its commitment to refrain from developing nuclear weapons.

Bush says he hopes to talk to the leaders of Britain, Germany and France to make sure any deal with Iran can be verified.

Negotiators from Iran and Europe today reached a tentative compromise on a deal under which Tehran would have to freeze all of its uranium enrichment activities.

The Iranian government had been trying to get 20 of its centrifuges exempted from the freeze.

The Tehran government still has to give its approval to the compromise.
