Amman, Jan. 07 – At least 28 Jordanian lawmakers have signed a petition calling on the government to cut ties with Iran and Israel.

The petition, which is currently being circulated in the Jordanian lower house of parliament, accuses Iran and Israel of stirring sectarian violence in neighbouring Iraq.

The lawmakers hope to get enough signatures to enable them to present a draft bill in parliament ordering the government to cut ties with the two states.

The Jordanian lower house of parliament has 110 members.
