Reuters: The White House said on Thursday it did not see Iran’s test-firing of missiles as an assault against U.S. warships in the Gulf. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House said on Thursday it did not see Iran’s test-firing of missiles as an assault against U.S. warships in the Gulf.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were reported by an Iranian naval commander to have test-fired missiles on Thursday that could sink “big warships” in the Gulf, the waterway where a second U.S. aircraft carrier is now heading.

“We do not see that as a direct assault on our ships,” said White House spokesman Tony Snow when asked about the missile tests.
