Tehran, Iran, Aug. 12 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accepted on Sunday the resignation of his Minister of Industries and Mines Ali-Reza Tahmasbi.

The official news agency IRNA carried the text of a letter by Ahmadinejad addressed to Tahmasbi thanking him for his activities as industry minister.

Tahmasbi, 46, is a former senior officer in Jihad Sazandegi and a former head of Jihad Sazandegi Research Centre.

He was once a Revolutionary Guards officer in Khatam-ol-Anbia Garrison of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Tahmasbi is an expert in ballistic missile development.
