Homes raided in northeast Iran for illegal satellites dishes

Iran Focus: Tehran, Jan. 20 – Homes in the city of Mashad (northeast Iran) were raided over the past few days by State Security Forces for “illegal satellite dishes”. The SSF Public Relations Office announced that two individuals were arrested, on charges of installing satellite dishes, during the raids. Tehran, Jan. 20 – Homes in the city of Mashad (northeast Iran) were raided over the past few days by State Security Forces for “illegal satellite dishes”.

The SSF Public Relations Office announced that two individuals were arrested, on charges of installing satellite dishes, during the raids.

Some 45 satellite dishes and receivers were confiscated thus far.

The SSF office announced agents had been waging a vigorous crackdown on homes that had installed satellite dishes.

Satellite dishes are illegal in Iran and security agencies regularly conduct raids on private homes to find them

Iranian officials have repeatedly expressed grave concern over the impact of opposition satellite broadcasts on Iran’s younger generation.
