Tehran, Iran, Dec. 02 – Iran’s education minister has resigned, state media reported on Sunday.

Mahmoud Farshidi tendered his resignation to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official news agency IRNA said.

State television quoted a ministry official as saying that Ahmadinejad had accepted Farshadi’s resignation and would introduce Alireza Ali-Ahmadi as his successor.

Ali-Ahmadi was once a candidate to head the Ministry of Cooperatives.
