Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed 14 of his advisers in the latest shakeup of his administration, Press TV reported.

Ahmadinejad notified the advisers in a letter yesterday that their “cooperation has ended,” state-run Press TV said, citing Mehdi Kalhor, one of the dismissed aides.

Kalhor, who advised the president on media and cultural affairs, said he wasn’t aware of the reason behind the decision, according to the report published on Press TV’s website today. The report didn’t provide details.

Last month, Ahmadinejad dismissed Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and replaced him with Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the country’s atomic energy agency. Ahmadinejad, who was first elected in 2005, repeatedly has said that shakeups of his administrations are “positive” and a sign that his government is committed to the people.
