Iran and Afghanistan will sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in trade, banking and tourism, the state-run Mehr news agency reported, without saying where it got the information.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will travel to Afghanistan later today to meet his Afghan counterpart, Zalmai Rassoul, and participate in the fourth Iran-Afghanistan economic committee meeting, Mehr said, without providing details.

A group of 30 Iranian experts and deputies in Afghan affairs will participate in the meeting, during which the memorandum will be drafted.
