Colombo Gazette: According to the police there Iran nationals were arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with fake visas to travel to Malta.

Three Iranians were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with fake visas to travel to Malta.

According to the police the Iran nationals were arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the airport last evening.

The three Iranians were preparing to leave for London with the Malta visas on the passports when Sri Lankan airlines officers raised suspicion on their visas.

They were handed over to the CID and it was later found that the visas for Malta were fake.

The three Iranians had Iranian passports, the police media unit said.  They were produced before a Magistrate and remanded.
