London, 6 October – The Iranian Regime has reacted angrily to the publication of an alumni book from a prominent technological school which features a picture of Iranian Resistance leader Maryam Rajavi.

It has closed down the Society of Graduates in Sharif University of Technology, until a full investigation has been made, describing Rajavi as the “number 1 enemy” of the regime and the alumni organisation have been accused of pro-PMOI/MEK (People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran) propaganda.

Apparently, more than 30 Members of the Iranian Parliament questioned the Minister of Higher Education about it.

They asked: “What is the reason behind the publication of the photo of the leader of The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in the Special Publication of the Society of Gradates of Sharif University of Technology?”

According to the State-run Fars News Agency, university president Hamod Fotohi said: “As soon as we were informed of the distribution of a number of this publication among the students we ordered its further distribution to be blocked and all those already distributed to be collected and be transferred to Herasat Office (state body in charge of repression of students in universes and schools).”

He insists that the Society of Graduates “must be held accountable” and that they would deal with those responsible.

Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran,  was a former student of Sharif University and attained a B.S in Metallurgy Engineering. As an important graduate, she was included in the annual book of graduates.
