Tehran, Iran, Oct. 26 Irans hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that ultra-Islamist war veterans and those willing to sacrifice their lives for the Islamic revolution had to take the lead in government decisions about the way the country was being run, the semi-official daily Jomhouri Islami reported on Wednesday.
In a meeting with the hard-line Islamists, who are fiercely loyal to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Ahmadinejad said, These dear ones must regain their leading role in the revolution and contribute to the countrys small and large decisions.
The hard-line President, who was once a senior Revolutionary Guards commander, said that Irans 1979 Islamic revolution could soon be revived in the country and exported to other parts of the world. There is no doubt that the elevation and revival of the Islamic revolution have begun and, god willing, in the near future, we will witness an increase once again in the momentum of the revolution inside the country and abroad.
