Tehran, Iran, Aug. 21 – The Speaker of the Syrian Parliament has arrived in the Iranian capital Tehran for an official visit, Iranian state media reported on Tuesday.

Mahmoud al-Abrash is scheduled to meet and hold talks with senior Iranian officials during the one-week visit.

Regional allies Iran and Syria are both accused by the United States of being state sponsors of terrorism.
