Tehran, Iran, Mar. 25 – A bus overturned on a highway in southern Iran leaving 27 people dead and 15 others injured, state media reported on Tuesday.

The accident occurred on Monday on a stretch of road in the province of Khuzestan, state television said.

Iran’s highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.
