Tehran, Iran, Apr. 01 – An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted an island on Iran’s southern shores early on Friday.

The quake occurred at 05:05 local time (00:35 GMT), the official news agency IRNA reported.

The tremor hit near the island of Hondourabi which falls within the province of Hormozgan, the report said.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property.
