ImageTehran, Iran, Feb. 13 – Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov arrived in Tehran late on Friday for a two-day visit. 

Berdymukhamedov is being accompanied by his entire cabinet in what is his third trip to Iran since becoming President in 2006. He was greeted at the airport by the Iranian Minister of Oil Gholam-Hossein Nozari.

He is scheduled to meet hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei later on. Discussions are expected to focus on Tehran-Ashgabat bilateral relations.

Turkmenistan, which has a population of about 6 million, borders north-eastern Iran.
