ImageTehran, Iran, Aug. 25 – An Iranian MP has envisaged a decisive majority of MPs will vote in favour of the Iranian President's controversial choice for Defence Minister, state-run Fars news reported.

In reference to comments made linking Ahmad Vahidi to the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires, Javan Jahangirzadeh was quoted as saying, "Leaders of the Zionist regime of Israel are all criminals and such statements (against Iranian figures) will cause the ruling system and the parliament to favor these individuals (figures) more."

"I predict that a decisive majority of the parliament members would vote for General Vahidi," the member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Fars on Tuesday.

Following a trial in Argentina, Ahmad Vahidi was convicted in absentia for the role that he played in the bombing. Ahmad Vahidi is currently wanted by Interpol for his role in the terrorist attack.
