Tehran, Iran, Nov. 03 – Kuwait has limited visa application approval from Iran as well as six other states – Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Libya – the Islamic Republic’s state-run news agency, IRNA, reported on Thursday.

Under the new visa rules, individuals wanting to travel from Iran for work or leisure will be refused visas.

Invitations by Kuwaiti citizens for Iranians will only be allowed if the traveller is an immediate relative of the citizen.

Business travel will also be limited to just doctors, engineers, and bank and company managers, and only on the condition that the relevant Kuwaiti business or institution has sent a formal invitation request.

Pilgrimage and work permits for Iranians can no longer be interchanged under the new regulations.
