Tehran, Iran, Feb. 14 – Iran is taking steps to remove inspection cameras from its nuclear sites, a senior Iranian nuclear official announced on Tuesday.

Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, told the state-run news agency Fars, “We are preparing to remove cameras from some of our sites”.

He added that Iran would remove certain cameras in accordance with international obligations under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. “We will not do anything beyond our commitments”.

He said that any inspection of Iranian nuclear sites would have to be done under the rules of the NPT. Iran ended its commitment to the NPT’s Additional Protocol which allowed for snap inspections of its declared nuclear sites.
