Tehran, Iran, Feb. 16 – More than 100 hard-liners gathered outside the German embassy in Tehran Thursday morning to protest the publication of insulting cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad in European dailies and the European Union’s stance against Tehran’s nuclear program.

They held placards reading, “False claimants of democracy and freedom of speech: Unites States, Britain, Germany, and France” and “We condemn technological apartheid”.

They accused the EU of being a “tool in the hands of the U.S. and Zionists”.

One of the banners read “Merkel = Hitler”, comparing German Chancellor Angela Merkel with former Germany dictator Adolf Hitler.

They vowed that Tehran would never given into “threats by the West” to abandon its nuclear activities.
