Tehran, Iran, Jun. 15 – A teenage student set himself on fire in a west Tehran suburb, the state-run news agency ISNA reported on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old identified only by his first name Mazda drenched himself in fuel and set himself ablaze at his home in the village of Elmpeyk on Tuesday.

After lighting himself, the burning Mazda ran out of his home and tumbled down the apartment block’s stairway.

Screaming neighbours immediately tried to put out the blaze but the young student was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his burns.
