Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Nov. 05 – Iran’s hardline-dominated Majlis (Parliament) approved the nomination of an ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to head the Ministry of Cooperatives. Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Nov. 05 – Iran’s hardline-dominated Majlis (Parliament) approved the nomination of an ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to head the Ministry of Cooperatives.

Mohammad Abbasi replaces Mohammad Nazemi-Ardakani as Cooperatives Minister less than a year since the latter took over the ministry.

Of the 245 Majlis deputies who took part in the vote, 155 voted in his favour, 70 voted against him and 20 abstained.

Last week, Majlis confirmed Abdol-Reza Mesri as Welfare Minister.
