London, Jan. 04 – The new Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon said earlier this week that one of his main duties in his new position would be to tackle the issue of Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons program.

Ban said that the international community needed to act swiftly to resolve the standoffs over Iran and North Korea’s nuclear activities.

On December 23, the Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1737 to slap sanctions on Tehran and once again demanded it suspend all uranium enrichment activities.
