Tehran, Iran, Jan. 12 – The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog met hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad earlier on Saturday, state media reported.

Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, discussed Tehran’s controversial nuclear dossier with Ahmadinejad at the Presidential Office in the morning.

ElBaradei also met with Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili.

On Friday, the UN nuclear agency chief met the head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh. He is expected to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei later in the day.

The U.N. Security Council has imposed two sets of sanctions on Iran for its refusal to halt its uranium enrichment activities which the West suspects is part of a nuclear weapons program.
