MUNICH, Feb 7 (Reuters) – The international community must make clear to Iran that its "patience is at an end" in the dispute surrounding Tehran's nuclear programme, German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg said on Sunday.
"It may be that the sanctions screw needs to be or can be turned here and there," Guttenberg told reporters at the annual Munich Security Conference. "We need to consider very carefully what impact our options could have."
"At the same time, however, it must be made clear to Iran that patience is at an end."
He was speaking after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday told Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation to start work on producing nuclear fuel for a Tehran research reactor, further raising the stakes in a stand-off with the West.
