Tehran, Iran, Dec. 24 Irans Foreign Minister declared on Friday that the hard-line policies and strategy of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejads government had thwarted threats by the European Union to haul Tehrans suspected nuclear file before the United Nations Security Council for possible sanctions.
The new government has blunted the sword of European threats of Security Council action, the state-run ISNA news agency quoted Manouchehr Mottaki as saying.
Mottaki said that Iranian and EU negotiators were set to meet to discuss their positions over the international deadlock.
He said that Tehran had no objections if the meeting was held in the capital of one of the three EU countries negotiating with Iran France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
