Iran Supreme Leader Claims Saudi Arabia Faces “Downfall”

London, 29 May – The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has made some shocking claims about the kingdom of Saudi Arabia following their recent hosting of Donald Trump.

On Saturday, he claimed that Saudi Arabia’s monarchy is facing “certain downfall” for aligning itself with the US and that the Saudi government could be overthrown soon.

It is strange to hear Khamenei criticise the Saudi Royal Family, not because he’s usually so restrained, but because he uses exactly the same complaints that people level at his Regime.

During a religious gathering marking the start of Ramadan, Khamenei said: “They will be gone, they can be toppled and can perish [or be destroyed]… there is no doubt about it… it is certain that it will happen.”

He continued: “They will face certain downfall. They might stay for some time; it depends on how the believers of the community take action. If they act correctly, it will happen sooner. If they don’t [react], it might take longer.”

There are many people throughout the world who have predicted the Iranian Regime’s fall from power, including most notably Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Resistance who correctly asserted that when Iran neighbouring dictatorship (that of Bashar Assad in Syria) falls, so will the Regime.

He also threatened that the Muslim world was in “grave danger” because of the “group of worthless, inept and villainous people [who] are ruling over a community of the Muslim nation, namely the Saudi government.”

There are plenty of people who recognise that the Iranian Regime poses a grave danger to the Middle East (and indeed the world), because of their dangerous destabilisation of the region in their desperate power grab.

Khamenei compared Saudi Arabia to a “cow being milked” because of the huge deal that were agreed to by the US last week ($110 billion in arms deals and the $350 billion in other deals) and accused Riyadh of trading with “pagans and enemies.”

He said: “The stupid Saudi government thinks it can attract the friendship of enemies by giving them money.”

Is Khamenei really trying to say that Iran has not done deals with the US? Because they definitely have.

He said: “They are giving special handouts to the US. To whom does all this wealth belong? This is the nation’s [Saudi people’s] wealth, which they give away to disbelievers and their people’s enemies…They oppress their own people in this manner, and oppress the people of Yemen and Bahrain in other ways. But they are going to perish.”

Considering that the majority of the Iranian people live in poverty because the Regime prioritises propping up a dictatorship and training terrorists rather than caring for its people, maybe Khamenei isn’t the right person to talk about giving your country’s money to the wrong causes.
