Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Feb. 13 – Iran’s Majlis, or Parliament, approved on Tuesday government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham as the country’s new Justice Minister, state television reported. Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Feb. 13 – Iran’s Majlis, or Parliament, approved on Tuesday government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham as the country’s new Justice Minister, state television reported.

One of hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s closest allies, Elham is also his chief of staff.

He had been acting as interim Justice Minister following the death of Jamal Karimi-Rad.

Karimi-Rad, who died in a road accident in December, was both Justice Minister in the hard-line government as well as Judiciary Spokesman.
