ImageKermanshah, Iran, Apr. 29 – A group of retired teachers have protested outside government offices in the province of Kermanshah, western Iran, demanding their overdue pensions.

The teachers gathered outside the provincial headquarters of the Ministry of Education for the fourth time on Sunday in protest to their unpaid pensions.

One retired teacher said, “Pensions are the right of teachers because they are a hard-working sector of society. But they refuse to pay us”.

Most of those who took part in the protest had also sought early retirement in order to resolve some of their financial difficulties; however, the Education Ministry had thus far refused to provide their pensions.
